Alexander Shaknovich, MD

Dr. Alexander Shaknovich is the co-founder and CMIO of Hygia, bringing nearly four decades of experience as a leader in academic and clinical medicine. He holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Columbia University and an MD from the MIT-Harvard Health Science and Technology Program at Harvard Medical School. He completed post-graduate training in Medicine and Clinical and Interventional Cardiology at prestigious institutions including New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and Scripps Clinic. Dr. Shaknovich gained international recognition as a pioneer of coronary stenting and held leadership positions in interventional programs in NYC, consulting for Johnson & Johnson Interventional Systems and serving as a principal investigator in major clinical trials, authoring articles and patents in vascular interventions.

Dr. Shaknovich's vision for Hygia stems from his deep understanding of patient-centric care and the critical role of information integration and long-term patient engagement. His extensive experience leading a large community-based cardiology practice in New York City has provided invaluable insights into population- and value-based healthcare. At Hygia, he applies this expertise to develop and oversee all clinical programs, create and validate AI algorithms, and manage IP filings, driving the company's mission to transform healthcare delivery.
